These are a few of the poems you enjoyed last year, as I begin again here in 2020.

Spring will return
here and there
and then I’ll say
“When did this happen?”

Today, though, I rest
in longer light
on evergreens
in a tiny bit of wind

February 15, 2019

different shapes
of the rose bush
and lilacs in the yard
they grew towards
the light

February 25, 2019

clouds and yet
enough light
to fill a jam jar
with the last
of the carnations

and planning
the week
what will grow
what should rest
