Art, Books, Poetry

Welcoming Hope: Poems for those in need is a book that we published with Time of Singing poetry journal. I reread the book recently, and the poems are strong and timeless.

Lora Homan Zill and I served as the Editors. Charles A. Waugaman was the Art Editor and Illustrator.

The book includes poems by many poets. With the universal themes of faith and hope, the book continues to be a beautiful work of art.

The book can be ordered from The Blue Collar Artist Time of Singing. All proceeds benefit Time of Singing. You can also learn more about Time of Singing “quarterly Christian poetry journal from Wind & Water Press.”

Elin Grace Publishing is named for my grandmothers.

Creative note: I completed a draft for a new book of poetry, and now am selecting photos by Karl for the cover art and book. His photo of swans and Lake Michigan is a favorite.

Short Sun Poems

patterns on my floor
moving with the breeze
sun from the West
highlights
branches of leaves

treetops
in golden light
sunset

losses in life
low setting sun
through branches of trees
now rises again
as birds quietly sing

sunrise
small branch growing
from the old tree trunk

two red tulips
lean towards sun
perennial friends

wind uplifting
the branches of trees
sunrise

the same poems
for the rest of my life
stars and tree branches
another sunrise

“patterns on my floor” was published by Time of Singing poetry journal, Spring 2011.
