Easter Archives

We began Easter And Spring Poetry in March 2014. This afternoon, I began reviewing the archives and will share a few poems and Bible verses in posts this Lent and Easter season. And I will continue with verses from the Psalms. As a writer, it is interesting to see the journey of poems through the years. One post at a time, work grows. There are many practice poems, and sometimes I revise. I also see themes over time and can sometimes create a sequence of poems. Always a work in progress.

December Poems

These poems are from posts at POEMS FROM OOSTBURG, WISCONSIN this year.

peaceful time
with my blogs

Midwest seasons
decades of life
each familiar
and yet always

reflections of lights
in the windows
with Norway Spruce
tree branches
and pine cones

new place
for the Christmas cactus
sunroom window

tall weathered tree
clouds and blue sky
fill the spaces
where branches
no longer grow

December sunrise
evergreens in wind
and light

December garden
evergreen light
wind and blue sky

Short Poems: Seasons

some time
in my small study
so I do not miss
small gold leaves
in the wind

wind freeing the snow
from evergreen branches

Spring poetry
journals in the mail
new season of art

a painting
every morning
tree branches
with new growth
and sky

reading journals
new generation of poets
since I began

time with old friends
poems in a journal
from years ago

after rain sun
in the garden
where green plants
still grow and today
begins anew

“wind freeing the snow” is from Quiet Christmas Poetry.
