on the cactus

and timeless thoughts

Christmas morning
prayers for health and peace
before dawn . . .

Short Sun Poems

patterns on my floor
moving with the breeze
sun from the West
highlights
branches of leaves

treetops
in golden light
sunset

losses in life
low setting sun
through branches of trees
now rises again
as birds quietly sing

sunrise
small branch growing
from the old tree trunk

two red tulips
lean towards sun
perennial friends

wind uplifting
the branches of trees
sunrise

the same poems
for the rest of my life
stars and tree branches
another sunrise

Poems

These are a few of the poems you enjoyed last year, as I begin again here in 2020.

Spring will return
here and there
and then I’ll say
“When did this happen?”

Today, though, I rest
in longer light
on evergreens
in a tiny bit of wind

February 15, 2019

different shapes
of the rose bush
and lilacs in the yard
they grew towards
the light

February 25, 2019

clouds and yet
enough light
to fill a jam jar
with the last
of the carnations

and planning
the week
what will grow
what should rest
